Residents of the Town of Jackson must make sure that their driveways are wide enough to accomodate large fire fighting equipment, Town of Jackson equipment and ambulances.

Driveway Requirements:

1. Minimum of 25 feet width at the entrance.

2. Minimum of 20 feet width throughout the driveway. The 20 feet width must be free of trees, stumps, brush, rocks, etc..

3. A minimum height clearance of 13 feet is required.

4. Any curves must not be less than a 100 foot radius.

5. Driveways exceeding 150 feet in length must provide an adequate turn around that will accommodate a 30 foot long fire truck.

6. If a circle drive is constructed, it must have a radius of no less than 45 feet to the centerline. 

7. The turn around area shall not be less than 60 feet.

Please Note:

The Jackson Volunteer Fire Department will inspect each driveway in the Town of Jackson annually, or as needed, for the construction of a new driveway.
